World Press Photo sergisi, Türkiye’de
Dünyanın en prestijli basın fotoğrafçılığı yarışmasının bu yılki sergisi, 3-23 Eylül arasında Ankara’yı, 29 Eylül – 12 Ekim arasında İzmir’i ziyaret ediyor.
Güncel Konular, Genel Haberler, Spot Haberleri, Çevre, Doğa, Uzun Erimli Projeler, Portreler ve Spor alanlarında ödüllerin verildiği, bu yıl 62nci kez düzenlenen yarışmaya 129 ülkeden 78 bin 801 fotoğraf katıldı.
Yarışma, merkezi Amsterdam’da bulunan World Press Photo Vakfı tarafından düzenleniyor. Bağımsız bir sivil toplum örgütü olan vakfın amaç sloganı “Dünyayı kayda değer öykülerle birbirine bağlamak.”
Kazanan fotoğraflardan oluşan sergi, yıl içinde 45 ülkede 100’ü aşkın şehirde sergileniyor.
İki yıl önceki yarışmada En İyi Fotoğraf Ödülü’nü Associated Press’ten Burhan Özbilici kazanmıştı. Bu yıl ise Anadolu Ajansı’ndan Elif Öztürk, Kırkpınar yağlı güreş fotoğraflarıyla spor öyküleri alanında üçüncülük ödülünü kazandı.
Türkiye’de Hollanda Kraliyeti Büyükelçiliği, İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi, Armada Alışveriş ve İş Merkezi, Hollanda Posta Piyangosu ve GaleriM Sanat Galerisi desteğiyle düzenlenen sergi, izleyicilerle Ankara’da Armada Alışveriş ve İş Merkezi’nde, İzmir’de ise Aziz Vukolos Kilisesi’nde buluşacak.
World Press Photo Exhibition in Turkey
The exhibition of the world’s most prestigious photojournalism competition will take place in Ankara between 3rd and 23rd September, and in Izmir between 29th September – 12th October.
78,801 photos from 129 countries participated in the 62nd competition of World Press Photo. The awards are given in the categories of Contemporary Issues, General News, Environment, Nature, Long-Term Projects, Portraits, Spot News, and Sports.
The competition is organised by the World Press Photo Foundation; an Amsterdam-based independent, non-profit organisation whose aim is “to connect the world to the stories that matter.”
Throughout the year, the exhibition consisting of the winning works visits more than 100 cities in 45 countries.Two years ago, a Turkish photographer, Burhan Özbilici from Associated Press has won the Photo of the Year Award. This year, Elif Öztürk from Anadolu Agency won the Third Prize in Sports Stories, with her photos of the traditional Kırkpınar oil wrestling competition.
Organised with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Armada Shopping and Business Centre, Izmir Greater City Municipality, Dutch Post Code Lottery and GaleriM Art Gallery, the exhibition will take place in Armada Shopping and Business Centre in Ankara, and in St. Vukolos Church in Izmir.
